Proceed to the town of Alba. We will visit the picturesque town of Alba, where we will explore the historical centre and the Tartufo (Truffle) Market. Celebrating one of the world’s most prized culinary treasures. Italy’s most famous – and ancient – truffle festival, the International Alba White Truffle Fair which takes place every year in Piedmont between early October and late November. It’s a great chance to learn and taste the Tuber magnatum, i.e. the white truffle mainly found in the Langhe and Montferrat areas of Piedmont, and, most famously, in the countryside around the cities of Alba and Asti.
Costing between $6,000 to $10,000 per pound, the aromatic tartufi bianchi are among the most expensive foods in the world. White truffles cannot be cultivated; growing underground near the roots of oak trees, they are hunted by trained dogs and pigs. The magic of the Middle Ages continues with“Il Borgo si Rievoca” commemorates with games for the public and re-enactors ready to relive and reconstruct in the town streets and squares bits from the past, scenes of ancient everyday life, habits, costumes and crafts. It will be a big celebration meant to “narrate” the Middle Ages through their activities, by taking visitors into an atmosphere that will combine history and tradition as well as excellent food and the desire to taste local products in a unique medieval setting. Overnight in Alba

Our next stop is the Truffle Factory, one of the most distinguished shops and gourmet outlets in Italy. Their Truffle specialities are appreciated in top class restaurants and gourmet shops all over the world. Here we can taste some samples and experience a hunt for truffles with dogs. We will obviously allow you enough time to shop for various truffle products!
But is not over yet from Tartuflanghe we visit Cascina Chicco Winery in the Roero Region a unique and welcoming Wine Cellar that is a tribute to the Roero and its great wines where we will tour the cellars and finish with the Tasting 5 Wines.
